Exploring
& Their Effect on Holistic Health
You are invited to participate in a Stanford research study exploring the potential health benefits resulting from regular exposure to compounds extracted from plants. We hope to learn how the human body is influenced by regular exposure to these compounds.
About this study
This study will be entirely performed remotely. The study team will send you the supplies needed for the study. We will gather information from a wearable monitor (Fitbit), Personal Exposome Monitor (PEM), surveys, and blood specimens to assess the effect of introducing diffused natural compounds in your home environment (specifically during sleep).
Am I Eligible?
To be eligible for this study, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Live in the US territory
- Read, speak and understand English
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- Not have epilepsy
- Not have allergies to plants of Cupressaceae family (common plants include redwoods, junipers, cypress, cedar, fir, and sequoia)
What will I do?
- Wear the provided wearables device
- Place the Personal Exposome Monitor (PEM) in your bedroom
- Collect a blood microsample
- Complete study surveys
- Use a diffuser with natural compounds during sleep (during the three intervention cycles only)
What will I receive?
Potential benefits which may reasonably be expected to result from this study include possible improvements in general health (such as improved sleep and mood) due to exposure to beneficial compounds.
We cannot and do not guarantee or promise that you will receive any benefits from this study.
