Molecular Profiling of COVID-19 Vaccine Response

At-home Microsampling Study

You are invited to participate in a research study to better understand how your body responds to COVID-19 vaccination.

You are eligible for the study if you:

  • Are over 18 years of age
  • Live in the United States
  • Plan to receive the COVID vaccine within the next two months

About this study:

We hope to learn more about COVID-19 vaccination through monitoring of molecules in your blood and stool using multi-omics profiling.

“Multi-omics” means we will be looking at many different types of molecules, including:

  • metabolites
  • lipids
  • proteins
  • antibodies

Your first vaccine appointment should be at least 1 week after the date you enroll in this study.

What the study involves:

Sign up and Receive a study kit

Collect blood and stool microsamples from home before and after you receive the vaccine

Mail the microsamples back to us using prepaid shipping provided

Complete an online questionnaire when you collect samples

What will you ask me to do?

If you choose to take part, we will gather samples from you and analyze them in the laboratory. We will also gather your health information by asking you directly or by looking at your electronic medical record. You have the right to refuse to answer particular questions.

If you are participating in other Stanford research studies, we ask for your permission to obtain and analyze research data collected from that research study if that study allows for the sharing of your research data.

 Voluntary Participation

Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. Your decision not to participate will not have any negative effect on you or your medical care. You can decide to participate now but withdraw your consent later and stop being in the study without any loss of benefits or medical care to which you are entitled.

Participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card after completion of the study.
