Pilot Study:
Facilitating Affect Regulation
in Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder

About This Study

We are investigating the impact of a vibrating device for youth with autism, designed to enhance their communication skills, manage challenging behaviors, and promote self-regulation.

What you will help your child do as a participant:

  • Wear and charge wearable devices daily, and upload your data to the ExpiWell app as frequently as possible.
  • Complete a survey at the beginning, once per day, and
    at the end of the one-week period.
  • The entire process should take no more than 20 minutes total.

To be eligible, your child must:

  • Be between 4-17 years of age.
  • Have a clinical diagnostic of autism spectrum disorder.
  • Not be pregnant.
  • Have no difficulty experiencing mid vibrations on their body.

Time and Compensation:

  • Participant will use the device for one week.
  • Participants will receive a $20 gift upon the completion of the study.
